The fastest and best way to gaining mastery in any expertise, or specific skill or talent development is via the Mentoring process. There are 3 mandatory prerequisites expected of a Mentor: (1) Role Model. (2) Coach. (3) Confidante. In the First Mentoring Workshop (15 Oct 2011), we have covered the Pre-Preparation, Preparation, and the overall Physical Mentoring process framework, which entails (1) Role Model empowerment and (2) Coaching. Role Model empowerment was covered in the First Mentoring Workshop. In this follow-up Second Mentoring Workshop, we shall zero-in to the skilful process of being an Effective Coach. Why? As an Effective Mentor, there are times when you should be playing the role of “Role Model empowerment” and there are occasions that require you to perform the role of being a “Coach”. These occasions include: (a) Being a catalyst to the Mentee to identify and overcome (external) Problems and (internal) Issues that can (i) hold back the Mentee’s performance, (ii) prevent the Mentee from adhering to her Vision/Goals, (iii) even make the Mentee give up the journey; (b) Helping to release “vast reserves of potential” from the individual Mentee, including even the “best performers”.
In this workshop, you will have hands-on experience of how you can transform into an Effective Coach, based on a professional Coaching process. Knowing when to be a Role Model empoweror, and when to be a Coach, will optimize your Mentoring Success, helping the Mentee to clear disempowering patterns, to achieve breakthroughs, of which the successful Mentee will be very grateful.
